日本字体设计师——味冈伸太郎Shintaro Ajioka：

味冈伸太郎, 1949年出生于日本爱知县, 1964左右，开始对平面设计產生兴趣。1972左右，开始对美术、书法產生兴趣。1972/兵库县北条市的五百罗汉照片展。每年都发表作品、办个展，一直持续到今天。1988/开始着手建筑、家具设计。2008年味冈伸太郎展。

其创作的范畴相当的广泛, 有艺术作品发表、有平面设计, 建筑, 家具设计…等, 当然味冈伸太郎最被广為人知的创作即是其风格独特的字体创作, 看似随意但是却又简洁, 结构完整的字体设计被大量的运用在其作品中。另外他所创作的「小町」「良寛」「行成」「筑地」「弘道轩」书体也一直被设计师广泛的使用着。

味冈伸太郎的字体设计，有一种极有张力的古朴与简洁，风格十分独特。粗看上去，一切似乎都那麼的随意。特有风格的笔画元素、中宫结构、色彩搭配……这也是其设计的最大特点所在，貌似随意却寻求动态之中的统一，以及从平面构成角度去看的虚实关係。每个字体中的相同笔画的处理并不完全相同，但从整体上看倒是统一和谐的。

Shintaro-Ajioka

Shintaro Ajioka, a Japanese designer and artist, was born in 1949 in
Toyohashi, Japan. He developed interest in designing sometime around
1964. After designing his first two typefaces “Ryokan” and “Komachi”
for Japanese Kana characters in 1984, he has designed about 130
typefaces, mainly for Kana, many of which are widely used in Japan.
His encounter with “Sho” or Japanese calligraphy was in 1975. Then,
sometime around 1977, his calligraphy style shifted from
“letter-writing” to “art”. His work in architecture and furniture
designing started in around 1987. After being involved in commercial
space designing, now his main work in architecture is house designing.
One of his achievement as an art director is the small-town designing
project for Yotsujizaka street in Mikkabi, Shizuoka, Japan. Since 1990
he is inviting for presentation clay- and letter-based art works from
museums and galleries in Japan and abroad.

Awards include: Prize of Annual Book of Commercial Space Design in
Japan (1988 and 1990), The Bronze Prize of The Annual Book of
Typodirection in Japan (1994), The Grand Prize of The Annual Book of
Japan Typography (1995), The Nikkei Design Award (1999).

Participation in exhibitions include: “Bokujinten” calligraphy
exhibitions at Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art (1975-77), “Japanese
Design: A Survey Since 1950″ at Philadelphia Museum of Art (1994),
“The first TypoJanchi: Seoul typography biennial” at Seoul Arts Center
Design Gallery (2001), “Shanghai New Ink Painting Art Exhibition”
(2009).
